For this portion of the tour I was joined by Nick “Toasty” Tosti, who, in addition to being a great guy, also works as a cameraman for some of the shows I am on. This left him uniquely qualified to get some cool footage of this part of the dinosaur tour-trip, which we then turned into a sort of travel blog for the NSP patrons. It was great fun driving to the outskirts of Denmark to see the Knuthenborg Safari Park, which is a wildlife preserve with an unbelievable dinosaur palace in the center of it. Upon entering we were instructed not to walk freely across the preserve as there were live tigers and other incredibly dangerous animals roaming free across areas near us, that were only surrounded by easily-jumpable fences. It added a definite sense of adventure to this trip knowing that we could join the dinosaurs in extinction at any moment! The museum was totally worth it though. It was very similar to Teruel, in that the presentation almost felt like a rock concert with amazing skeletons thrown in for good measure. This specimen in the picture is a Hesperosaurus (Stegosaurus’ close cousin) named “Stephanie.” I don’t know why that named her that, or why she is lit up green, but hey, she looks great!
