Utah is a dinosaur lover’s dream! There are so many amazing museums in that state, all within a few hours of each other. It makes sense, since a lot of the large dinosaurs of the Jurassic period came from the lands that are now Utah & Wyoming. Many towns around these museums use dinosaur branding on their signs and businesses as a point of civic pride. I love to see it! The Stegosaurus in Vernal is one of my all-time favorites. Its bones are a rare golden color and are posed on a raised platform meant to evoke the area’s high plains deserts. The display really has a lot of life to it.
About an hour away from The Field House is another “must see:” the Wall of Bones at the Dinosaur National Monument in Jensen, UT. It’s a rock formation in the side of a mountain that contained so many exposed dinosaur bones, that the paleontologists working there decided to stop excavating and just build a museum around the cliff-face itself. These two museums together are an incredible experience to witness, and I can’t recommend them enough if you have the time for a full-day dinosaur adventure!
