Pittsburgh, PA – Carnegie Museum of Natural History

The Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh is another place to put on your bucket-list if you’re a dinosaur nerd like me!  The displays are beautiful, as well as some of the oldest and most historically significant in existence.  This fossil in particular came from a quarry out in Vernal, Utah which is known as Dinosaur National Monument.  That’s an exciting fact for me because the museum there is a site that I plan on visiting later this year.  It’s so cool to me how all these places have connections to each other.

What stood out to me the most about this particular skeleton is how much of it is actually fossilized bone.  A lot of displays around the world are replicas of original fossils, but this one was clearly the real deal.  You can see how much metal framework is necessary to protect the plates and keep them upright.  These true fossils are just as precious and irreplaceable as any treasure in the world.

About me

Musician & Youtube Host with a passion for Dinosaur Hunting

Hi there, my name is Dan Avidan. I’m mostly known as the singer for Ninja Sex Party, and a comedian on the YouTube show Game Grumps.  What is not as well-known about me is that I am also a huge lover of dinosaurs.

It started when I was five years old and my granddad took me to the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.  I was immediately captivated by the dinosaur skeletons and was mystified that these ancient animals actually existed.
